to Barkway Park Golf Club. |
|
Hidden away in
North Hertfordshire, this little known golf club - not a bad thing
we assure you - is a true gem and a course you’ll want to tell
your friends about, because your want to play it again, and
again.
The course
designed by Vivian Saunders in 1992 and at 6609 yards (yellow
tees), and par 74, offers a firm but fair challenge for golfers of
all abilities.
We
pride our self on being the friendliest club in Herts and Cambs
– and there is always a warm welcome (and a bit of banter) in
the bar to help you relax before and after a round!
The course could
best be described as an 'Inland Links' and it’s location in one
of the highest parts of the county means wind is usually a factor.
You'll
do very well to keep a good score if the wind blows like it can!

The
9th green, pictured to your left is named the "Club
Hole".
It
is a Par 4, 342 yards off the white tee's and former captain, Matt
Maciejewski,
recorded a spectacular hole in "one" here
recently.

A
limited number of memberships are available (5 day, 7 day and
family) and offer fantastic value for money.
The
club run a “red card” scheme for those that want the benefits
of club membership (handicap and access to competitions etc.) but
can’t justify the normal annual subscription – please visit
"fees
& visitors" or contact the club for full details
Our
kitchens can cater for everything from a light pre or post round
snack to an excellent 3 or 4 course meal (contact the club for
details).

Barkway
can accommodate Golf Societies (large and small)
7 days a week all year round. Food and drinks can be
organised for either an informal breakfast or lunch in the Golfers
Bar, or as a formal meal in our Function Room
Tee
Times:
Mon - Fri: Tee time to suit
Sat/Sun Tees from 11am
At
Barkway Park we are able to cater for up to 120 people dining in
our Function Room.
Our
function room and kitchens are also able to accommodate a Wedding
Reception, Birthday or Anniversary Party.
